The worlds most powerful preset system
No longer are we limited to to a single preset to apply to your RAW files. Maybe we love the Kodak Portra 400 from the contemporary Films pack and the Agfa Pro 200 from Vintage films. Well now its possible to take the color and tone curve from one and add it to the base tone and film grain of the other creating endless possibilities. Amazing, right? What if you are doing a full original edit and you just aren’t happy with the color? Then Pic Preset System is the solution. Just go to Click 3 and try one of the built in presets for the HSL panel. Not getting the most out of the tone curve? No worries, just try one of the 89 built in tone curves including many film emulators.
It really couldn’t be an easier to get professional results whist keeping full creative control. Just select 1 or more of any of the clicks and you are set. Just like layers each click is 100% independent so you can build your own style with confidence.
Trackable – Each click is 100% trackable meaning you can always go back and see what you did. Replicate your effects whilst understanding ‘why’ an edit looks like it does. Lightroom has powerful history tracking but if you have ever tried to use it for things like the tone curve its pretty much impossible. Not any more, the Pic Preset System allows you to accurately track your edits without ever leaving Lightroom. Now that’s revolutionary!
Click 1 – 20 Calibration and Lens Presets
Here, in just a single click, you can do your lens corrections, add prebuilt standard camera calibrations and even get creative with dynamic camera calibrations.
Click 2 – 87 Tonal Presets
This takes care of basic tonal qualities of an image. Dynamically add contrast, increase dynamic range or use one of the many built in film emulation presets to develop the foundation of the image. We didn’t stop there, if you want more creativity there is a full suite of refinements built in.
Click 3 – 75 HSL Presets
Taking care of the color of the image is one of the most important things to understand, but with limitless options, the HSL panel can be overwhelming. The Pic Presets System has all the hue, situation and luminance settings built in. Choose from enhancements, dynamic control or from one of the many built in film presets.
Click 4 – 123 Tone Curve Presets
This is one of the most creative sections of Lightroom but this also makes it one of the hardest to get the best results. We have spent 3 years developing our set of tone curves and have tested them over 1 million times to ensure the best results. We have built everything from boosts, crushes, mattes, color effects and a plethora of film emulators. The Tone curve is the perfect place for creativity in just a single click.
Click 5 – 31 Split Tone Presets
Highlights and shadows in photography are two places that hold story and emotion. We have created a perfect blend of synchronised color mixes including analogous, Complimentary and Creative. This is a great way to add a beautiful color tone to your images. Each preset here has been thoughtfully worked to deliver the maximum in color control.
A slider with the ID of 18 doesn't exist.
Click 6 – 40 Vibrance and Saturation Presets
Now you have the color pallet worked out with HSL, the deep tonal qualities through the tone curve and chosen any colors in the highlights and shadows, it’s time to choose how much of that color is left in the image. This is where saturation and vibrance comes in. This is more than just boosting the color there are many creative presets to decide the quality of the color situation.
Click 7 – 35 Details and Noise Presets
We want our images to the look incredible and sharpness is a vital part of this. We have added a wide range of sharpening presets that are specific to portraits, landscapes and lifestyle images. but we didn’t stop at sharpening, you also see creative ways of reducing noise too. Through the years of testing and development we made the important decision to place the ‘Clarity’ slider in this section. Working with the mid-tones of an image this tool is able to carefully add that extra little boost to your images.
Click 8 – 15 Film Grain Presets
This is where we add that final ‘feeling’ to an image. Film grain is more than just making an image look older than it is, it’s about giving it heart; an emotion. This is all about story telling. We have built film grain emulators from 35mm, medium format and a range of creative film grains.
Click 9 – 46 Graduated Filter Presets
With these stunning graduated filter presets, the creativity never ends. We have worked hard to keep each creative element separate so you never have to sacrifice one thing to have another. After l thousands of hours testing we decided that the graduated filter would be used for two main things. The first was to add some popular lens effects like edge blurring and that important ’tilt shift’ effect. The second, and most creative use, is for the ‘light leaks’. You will see a stunning array and hand crafted light leaks that work as lens flares, edge leaks and vintage style light leaks.
Click 10 – 15 Radial Filter Presets
The final click takes advantage of that all important radial filter. Here, we introduced effects that are ideal for portrait images, using it as a tool to create dynamic focus. Just move the filter over your focus area and see beautiful results instantly. We also included a second set of lens flare light leaks here giving you the ability to add stunning flares to any image.
Pic Presets does not attempt in any way to emulate the actual films or film lines listed in the titles, this is why.
Although creating super accurate film presets is a great place to start, we noticed that most people had never used the original film itself. We also realised there are few reasons for real photographers to place an image shot on film next to one edited with a film emulator (other than trying to sell a preset). Whilst these comparisons are great to show off a skill at emulating films it doesn’t help us with delivering actual photographic awesomeness. As photographers we want the very best presets that give the best results. We often desire the ‘feeling of film’, what we don’t need to be able to explain what film it is supposed to emulate.
Photographs are visual art, we don’t need words to explain that it is supposed to ‘look like film’.
There is a definitive list of films that have been created and we don’t see a reason to limit ourselves to these chemical restrictions. Adobe has given us the chances to create endless ‘films’ of our own. We call this ‘Future Film‘. Emulators that bring the feeling of historical film but are poised for future digital success. We focus on achieving the best results for professional photographers by taking inspiration from historical film stocks to create the next wave of ‘Future Film’.
Pic Presets System
Pic Presets System
Pic Presets is not just a selection of random presets produced through saving Lightroom edits. Instead, our creations are founded on deep tonal and color analysis that brings the very best out of your RAW images.
3 years in the making, Pic Presets is the most powerful Lightroom Preset system on the market. With 196 professional presets across 10 packs, Pic Presets gives you a comprehensive set of single click presets that work with all RAW file types.
But this is just the surface. Pic Presets is an entire system of virtual layers that contain over 480 develop section presets including more than 80 tonal presets and 75 HSL color presets. This means you can select a single preset then alter just one section to give a different result.
Firstly, we spent thousands of hours working through each of the Adobe Lightroom develop sections to create an incredibly robust and dynamic set of Presets. We split this into 10 sections and call it our 10 click system. Each click alters only one section and is 100% independant of all others giving us the effect of 10 virtual layers.
- Lens and calibration
- Hue Saturation and Luminance
- Tone Curve
- Split Toning
- Vibrance and Saturation
- Film Grain
- Graduated Filter
- Radial Filter
Using these virtual layers it is possible to create the most dynamic and precise one click presets. This is where the real power of the system works. Every single one of the 196 presets have been built from this 10 click system and been tested on over 1 million images. Each of the Virtual layers has been worked, reworked and tested multiple times to give the best possible results.
But it doesn’t stop there. The real power is using a single click preset and then altering one or more of the virtual layers to change an individual element. You could use Preset ‘CF8’ but change the tone curve to ‘Fuji 100c’ in a single click, something that has never been possible before.
With a total of 480 section presets we created over 200,000 variations giving you precise edits every time.
The Pic Preset System is 100% trackable for both you and for us. This means that as you work on an image you can always look back in the history and see exactly what preset you selected and any alterations you may have made.
Example: You use Preset ‘AF4’ and change the tone curve to ‘Fuji 400z’ and creatively reduce the situation and vibrance then you would just see SF10 + 36c + 61g.
From this we know the Following happened:
Preset – AF 4 (Art Fim 4 – Fuji Fortia SP)
Preset 36c (Click 3, HSL – Modern – Fuji 800z)
Preset 61g (Click 6, Saturation and Vibrance – ALT Muted -)
For us it means that each one of our 1 click presets are 100% tracked. We can analyze each section and see ‘why’ it gives us a certain result. With this information we can build new presets and accurately develop the system over time.
Adobe Lightroom gives us almost infinite outputs which makes it extremely difficult to get professional results. Most of us spend hours moving the sliders randomly until we get a desired result. Finally there is a system that has done all of this work for you without taking away the creativity. Pic presets gives you 201,190 trackable variations. Furthermore we have narrowed this down to just 196 single click presets. You get the precision with 1 click, the creativity with 10 clicks and the guarantee of great results every time.
